Our company was founded in 1959 in Saint John, New Brunswick as a division of J.D. Irving, Limited.
Though we're now Atlantic Canada's leading business-to-business provider in the areas of Sanitation Equipment & Supplies, Apparel & Promotional Products, Office Environments, Commercial Communications, Industrial Supplies and Safety Supplies, we started out much more humbly with a focus on supplying provisions for the shipping industry. Gradually, we expanded our areas of expertise and opened branch offices to better serve customers across Atlantic Canada.
Along the way, we strengthened our line-up of products and services through strategic acquisitions. In 2002, for example, we purchased R&A Paper Products Ltd, which formed the foundation of our new company office in Sydney, Nova Scotia. In 2007, we purchased Enviro Chemicals (Atlantic) Ltd., significantly enhancing the capabilities of our sanitation division. We can now provide our sanitation customers with greater coverage, more expertise and a wider range of products than any distributor in the region. Recently, in 2011 we acquired Specialty Apparel, in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland. Specialty Apparel brings a unique custom manufacturing aspect to our Apparel & Promotional division and expands our range to include all of Atlantic Canada.
